How it works

From delay to payout

  1. 01CHK

    Check for free

Answer a few questions about your flight. In about a minute you see whether the airline owes you, and how much.

  2. 02PCK

    Get your claim pack

A ready-to-send claim letter citing the exact rule, plus an expense claim and a checklist of evidence.

  3. 03SND

    Send it yourself

You send the claim to the airline, and we track the deadlines. If the airline refuses, we prepare your complaint to the regulator.

  4. 04PAY

    Keep 100%

The airline pays you directly. No commission, no percentage taken.

Keep all of it

Claim agencies typically keep 25–35% of your payout, sometimes more with legal fees. We charge one flat fee for the claim pack, and the airline pays you directly.

Questions

Straight answers about Canada's air passenger rules.

01Which flights are covered?

Flights to, from and within Canada, including connections, on any airline. Canada's Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR) set the amounts.

02When is cash compensation owed?

When you arrive 3 or more hours late, the cause was within the airline's control and not required for safety, and you were told 14 days or less before departure. Weather, air traffic control and similar events don't qualify.

03How long do I have to claim?

You must send your claim to the airline within one year of the delay or cancellation. The airline then has 30 days to pay or explain why not.

04Do I have to accept a voucher?

No. Compensation must be offered in cash. A voucher is only allowed if it's worth more, never expires, and you agree to it in writing.

05Is this legal advice?

FlightPayback prepares documents you send yourself. We are not a law firm and this is not legal advice.
